Agriculture and Horticulture Extension Agents from across the state will gather in Hopkinsville this week for the Kentucky Association of County Agriculture Agents Conference. Association President David Fourqurean, who serves in Trigg County, says the conference will begin Tuesday and continue through Thursday.

click to download audioTour stops include a wheat tour that trace the crop from the field to the processor Continental Mills in Hopkinsville. The second tour includes a stop at Seven Springs Farms straw mat facility, tobacco with the Holloway Family, a beef cattle stop at the Fourqurean farm, and a visit to Hampton Meats in Hopkinsville. The third tour will focus on small fruit and vegetable production with a stop at the Fairview Produce Auction and Deerfield Supply. And the fourth tour, dubbed the retiree tour, will include some historical sites in Muhlenburg County.
Fourquruean says retired agents will be among this year’s special guests.
