With their tassels flipped and caps flying, the Hopkinsville High School seniors marked the end of one chapter and the beginning of another.
The graduation was held May 23 in the Stadium of Champions following Christian County High School’s graduation. Opposite of the year before, the weather was just right with no clouds in sight. As the sun set, the celebration began.
Kim Batts has devoted her entire 34 year career to Christian County Public Schools. Along with being a middle and high school teacher at Cumberland Falls, Batts is currently the Hopkinsville High School KYA and Key club leader. She was chosen to speak at this year’s graduation. Batts left the graduates with five lessons she hopes they will carry into the real world.
1. Control what you can.
2. Step outside your comfort zone.
3. Be a lifelong learner.
4. Dream big.
5. Stay rooted in your faith.
