Cadiz Sewing Class Students Donating Projects To Charity

Barkley Plantation residents were recently surprised with the gift of hand-made pillows, crafted by a local sewing class.

The thirteen students share a love for sewing and gifting to others, which meant that presenting the thirty-six pillows to the plantation brought a smile to their faces. According to the group’s sewing instructor, Janet Murtaugh, the idea of sewing for charity meant that they were able to bring a inspiring task to encourage students to learn how to sew.

Murtaugh has taught students how to do a variety of different sewing projects, including t-shirt quilts, pillow cases, and more.

She said the class has plans to continue sewing for charity.
