A woman was rushed to a waiting helicopter after she was hit by a truck during a party on Broad Street in Hopkinsville Friday night.
Hopkinsville Police say a truck driven by 46-year-old Mark Ware stopped in the road, reversed into a parked vehicle, then went forward into a tent with several people around a table inside, before hitting a parked car and coming to a stop on top of Willie Haskins, who is in her 60s.
Several people reportedly kept Ware from leaving while law enforcement was called.
Haskins was taken by Hopkinsville EMS to Jennie Stuart Health to meet with a helicopter to take her to TriStar Skyline Medical Center in Nashville for a head injury. While investigating the crash, law enforcement was reportedly called to the hospital after a large group of people showed up, causing a disturbance.
Ware was arrested and charged with DUI, first-degree assault, first-degree wanton endangerment, no registration plates, leaving the scene of an accident, and first-degree criminal mischief.
According to the hospital, Haskins is listed in stable condition.
