Woman Charged After Falsely Reporting A House Fire

A Hopkinsville woman was charged with falsely reporting a house fire and assaulting a police officer on West 2nd Street Sunday night.

Hopkinsville Police say 45-year-old Cara Allen reported a house was on fire and then refused to put a dog she was carrying down when she was being arrested for public intoxication.

She reportedly hit an officer in the arm before she was tased and taken into custody. She was charged with public intoxication, falsely reporting an incident, third-degree assault of a police officer, and resisting arrest.
