The final leg of the 2023 Kentucky Run for Fallen Heroes arrived Sunday afternoon at Kentucky Veterans Cemetery West in memory of those who lost their lives during the War on Terror.
Event Coordinator Chris Conley told Your News Edge during a stop on Greenville Road that the run that included a group of 20 runners were finishing up a two-day run that began Saturday.
click to download audioAccording to a social media post the Kentucky Run For The Fallen is an organization that honors and remembers every Kentucky service member killed as the result of serving during the War on Terror including Operation Iraqi Freedom, Enduring Freedom, and New Dawn. Each mile is to pay homage to one service member’s life and their family. Hopkinsville Police Chief Jason Newby was among those taking part in the 110 mile run over the weekend.
