Mr. Jerry Simons, age 76 of Elkton, passed away at 12:06 a.m., Saturday, June 17, 2023, at Ahava Health Care in Clarksville, TN.
Services will be Tuesday, June 20, 2023, at 11:00 a.m. at Latham Funeral Home in Elkton with Rev. Mike Cummings officiating. Burial will follow in Glenwood Cemetery in Elkton. Visitation will be Monday, June 19, 2023, from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Latham Funeral Home in Elkton and after 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday until the funeral hour at 11:00 a.m. Service will be live-streamed at lathamfuneralhome.com.
Mr. Simons was born in Hopkinsville, KY December 21, 1946. He was a farmer, and owner of Jerry’s BBQ Shack with locations in Elkton, Hopkinsville, and Cadiz, he also ran Simons Farms Pumpkin Sales at Exit 4 Clarksville, and Nashville Farmers Market in Nashville. Mr. Simons was a member of Elkton Baptist Church and a U.S. Air Force veteran. He is preceded in death by his parents Gerald Ray Simons and Loyce Myers Slaughter, and his brother Dickey Simons.
He is survived by his wife Janice Hadden Simons of Elkton, his daughter Cathy Thieme and her husband Kenneth of San Antonio, TX, his son Jerry Wayne Simons and his wife Shea of Elkton, KY, his grandchildren Eliza and Axel Simons, and Alex, Raylan and Harley Thieme.
