Traffic Stop Leads To Drug Trafficking Charges For Hopkinsville Man

A Christian County man was charged with drug trafficking after a traffic stop on East 21st Street Monday night.

Hopkinsville Police say 25-year-old Timothy Payne was stopped for failing to use a turn signal and during the stop, officers could smell the odor of marijuana coming from his vehicle.

After a search of his vehicle, several bags of marijuana weighing approximately 10 ounces, THC wax, multiple glass smoking devices, a THC vape pen, $400 in cash, and a digital scale were reportedly located.

He was arrested and charged with trafficking marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia. He was also cited for failure to or improper signal.
