The state’s manufacturing industry got an official bump Thursday morning, when Gov. Andy Beshear announced the arrival of Precision Sonar & Outdoors LLC to Benton in Marshall County.
Specializing in GPS and sonar mounting systems, the expansion of company operations will involve a $2.2 million investment and 12 full-time jobs.
This involves the construction of a new facility near its already-existing location in Marshall County, and comes in response to “growing customer demand,” while providing additional space, a larger floor plan and improvements with logistics and distribution of its products.
Previously outsourced services will now move in-house, including CNC injection molding, water jet projects, 3D printing and laser etching. New jobs created include company positions, as well as design and engineering tracks.
PS&O specifically creates GPS and sonar mounting systems that are designed and produced from solid aluminum in controlled environments, courtesy of experienced craft workers in the tool and die industry. Behind a wide selection of sonar accessories, the company takes pride in the production or materials that “enhance the appearance” of customers’ boats, while “being fun and easy to use.”
