The Hopkinsville Rotary Club’s annual fundraising auction raised more than half a million dollars last week, with the auction setting a record for the most money ever raised.
The 72nd annual Volunteer Tradition themed auction wrapped up late Saturday night after a six-night run at the Memorial Building in downtown Hopkinsville as auction chairman Andrew Wilson sold the final item to the 2023 auction chairman Brandon Killebrew.
click to download audioDuring the final night Rotarians sold 241 items to raise $56,381, with the diner and sweet shop bringing in $5,619. The Hour and Goat Club raised $117,000, which pushed the Saturday night total to $179,108. The Saturday night auction pushed the week’s total to $536,334 which set a record for the annual fundraising auction.
