Russell Recognized For Service To Pennyroyal Arts Council

Doris Anne Russell was honored for twenty-five years of service to the Pennyroyal Arts Council Friday night at the Alhambra Theater.

Russell was surprised by Executive Director Margaret Prim and her family Friday night on the stage of the historic venue as the “Live at the Alhambra” season came to a close.

Hopkinsville Mayor Wendell Lynch read a proclamation honoring her for twenty-five years. She was also presented with some special gifts.

Margaret Prim says in Russell’s years of service she has served nearly half a million Christian County students at the Alhambra on school day performances. She added Russell has welcomed over one million locals and visitors to Arts Council events and programs. And Prim noted Russell has folded and sealed over 25,000 fundraising letters as a champion of the Arts.
