Princeton Man Charged With Assaulting Male With A Hammer

A Princeton man was charged with assault after police say he hit another man with a hammer several times Thursday night.

Princeton Assistant Police Chief Shane Allison says officers responded to an assault complaint at a residence near the 1000 block of Dawson Road around 9:10 p.m.

According to the report, 62-year old Ray L. Bozarth was taken into custody after he struck 32-year old Brett M. Whitney, of Princeton, with a hammer several times causing serious physical injuries.

Whitney was transported by EMS to Caldwell County Hospital for treatment.

Bozarth was charged with first-degree assault. He is lodged in the Caldwell County Jail with a $20,000 cash bond.
