The Pennyrile District Health Department has confirmed the death of a Trigg County resident as a result of the coronavirus.
The 68-year-old male died on September 5th. The health department does not release the vaccination status of the cases or deaths in its five-county district.
The death is the fifth in Trigg County in the past month related to the coronavirus and the 21st since the pandemic began in March 2020.
On Tuesday, the health department reported 13 new cases of COVID-19 in Trigg County. Five of those involve children 18 and under. Over the weekend, the county passed 2,000 cases of COVID-19 since last March.
