Princeton Man Arrested In Hopkinsville For 5th DUI


A Princeton man is facing his fifth DUI charge after a traffic stop in Hopkinsville Friday night.

Hopkinsville police report 31-year old Robert Baker was stopped by officers around 11:30 p.m. at the intersection of  East 7th Street and Brown Street after they received a call that he was possibly driving intoxicated.

According to police, officers could smell alcohol on Baker and he had bloodshot eyes, slurred speech, and admitted to drinking. Police also said Baker refused field sobriety tests and it was discovered he was driving on a suspended license due to prior DUI convictions.

Baker was taken into custody and booked into the Christian County Jail charged with driving under the influence of alcohol 4th or greater offense, and driving on a suspended driver’s license.

As previously reported by the News Edge, Baker was arrested by Princeton police after a traffic stop on Violet Loop in Princeton on July 17 after officers observed him driving on a suspended license. Police reported during that traffic stop Baker was charged with his fourth DUI offense and his third offense for driving on a DUI suspended license.
