Hopkinsville Native Dies In Louisville Traffic Crash

The namesake for the annual Hopkinsville Eagle’s Club charity poker run and fundraiser died in a traffic crash Friday night in Louisville.

Louisville Metro Police identified the driver of a vehicle that crashed on Cherokee Road Friday night as 26-year-old Alexis “Lexi” Sabatino. Police told the Courier-Journal Sabatino’s vehicle ran off the side of Cherokee Road Friday night around 7:00. Her vehicle then hit a tree head-on.

Sabatino was pronounced dead at the scene of the crash near Cherokee Park.

The annual Lexi Sabatino Poker Run was named in her honor because she was the first one the organization raised money for as she battled cancer.
