State Positivity Rate Remains Low With 751 New COVID Cases

On Tuesday, Gov. Andy Beshear announced 751 new COVID-19 cases and a 2.9% positivity rate.

Governor Beshear says the state is on a positive trajectory – we are leading all of our seven border states in administering at least one dose of the vaccine and our positivity rate continues to decline – but we need to keep working hard and not give up. He added we need every eligible Kentuckian to join the team and get the first vaccine available to them.

Kentucky has now vaccinated about 40% of all adults.

As of 4 p.m. Tuesday there were 751 new cases of COVID-19, with 13 new deaths and 10 additional deaths from the state audit. Beshear said the state positivity rate remains at 2.9%. There are currently 378 people hospitalized, 91 in the intensive care, and 37 on a ventilator. With the additional deaths the statewide COVID-19 death toll stands at 6,065.

Top counties with the most positive cases today are: Jefferson, Fayette, Christian, and Scott. Each county reported at least 25 new cases.
