Christian County Sets Active COVID Case Total for Kids

The number of Christian County kids 18 and under diagnosed with an active case of COVID-19 Thursday is the highest since the pandemic began and comes two weeks after Governor Andy Beshear suspended in-person classes for middle school and high school students until January.

The 78 active cases involving kids 18 and under has increased by 10 since November 25 and increased by 25 since November 18 — the same day Beshear announced he was closing schools to in-person classes until January as a way to keep COVID-19 from spreading.

Earlier this week, Christian County Superintendent of Schools Chris Bentzel said the district had a record-high number of staff with a positive test and again pointed to the increase since kids were sent home that schools were doing a good job in mitigating virus spread.
