The Todd County Health Department reported Tuesday one new COVID-19 case has been confirmed, bringing the total number of coronavirus cases to ten in the county.
According to officials with the health department, an adult with underlying health issues was tested Saturday and received the positive test result Tuesday. The adult is currently hospitalized and the health department is in the process of determining contacts for this patient. Officials say anyone with direct contact with the adult will be notified and advised to self-quarantine for 14 days.
Jen Harris, Public Health Director in Todd County, says the new case announced Tuesday is connected to some of their previous cases in the county. She adds Todd County has been very lucky so far during this pandemic. She says social distancing works, and they need the public to continue to follow social distancing measures.
