70 Fort Campbell Soldiers Deployed To Boston

Another medical group from Fort Campbell deployed over the weekend to support COVID-19 relief efforts on the east coast.

During the Tuesday evening town hall, 101st Airborne Commander, Major General Brian Winski says 70 members of the 501st Medical Company were sent to New Jersey and will assist in Boston.

Major General Winski adds there will be more deployments in the near future.

At Blanchfield Army Community Hospital, Commander Colonel Patrick Birchfield says active-duty physical training is still available, but being run differently.

In addition, Winski says on any given day the installation reports 15 to 20 confirmed positive COVID-19 patients, with the current number of cases among active-duty soldiers below five.

101st Command Sergeant Major Bryan Barker says it’s tough, right now, to think of a ‘new normal’ that will occur after the COVID-19 crisis is over.
