Governor Andy Beshear says the state saw the largest increase in confirmed COVID-19 cases Tuesday, including the highest number of deaths reported in a single day from the disease.

During his daily update, Governor Beshear says the state confirmed 114 new cases and reported seven new deaths, including an 80+-year-old Campbell County resident.

In new action from the state, Beshear says he has signed an executive order that allows the local county, and state levels to hire police, firefighters, EMS workers, and correction officers who have retired, with no penalty to their retirement.

Additionally, Beshear asked fiscal courts and other governmental agency meetings to be conducted online or through a teleconference.
