One person was injured in a two-vehicle accident involving a semi in Princeton Friday afternoon.
Princeton Police Chief Chris King states that officers responded to a two-vehicle injury collision on Highway 62 West in front of BP just before 12:30. He adds that preliminary investigation revealed that 52-year old Mikel Huff, of Smithland, was attempting to make a left turn from the center turn lane into BP in a Freightliner that was transporting gas for Max Arnold and Sons. Witnesses told officers that an eastbound passenger car driven by 52-year old Cheryl Vincent, of Nebo, then allegedly abruptly turned in front of the semi in the center turn lane and struck the semi on the passenger side.

Princeton Fire Chief Brent Francis notes that crews did have to extricate Vincent by prying open the driver’s door of the vehicle. Vincent was transported to Baptist Health in Madisonville by Caldwell County EMS.

A passenger in the vehicle refused treatment at the scene and Huff was uninjured.
