Kentucky 911 Widening Project Starting Monday

Work will begin this week to widen an increasingly popular stretch of road in southern Christian County.

Kentucky Transportation Cabinet District Two Spokesperson Keirsten Jaggers reports work on Kentucky 911/Thompsonville Lane will begin Monday. Crews with Rogers Group, Inc. will be expanding the road to five lanes from the U.S. 41A intersection to the railroad track, which is over .4-miles.

Jaggers adds the speed limit for the work zone will be 35 MPH, with a load restriction of 8-feet. Over-dimensional vehicles can utilize U.S. 41A, Interstate 24, or Kentucky 115 to by-pass the work zone.

The over $2.75-million project is being completed to accommodate the expected increase in traffic for the new Oak Grove Racing and Gaming facility and should be completed by fall 2020.
