A Crofton man indicted a year ago on multiple sex-related offenses of a 12-year old girl entered a guilty plea in Christian Circuit Court Thursday morning.
Court records indicate 32-year old Kevin Wade Hines made the plea as part of an agreement with the commonwealth for charges of first-degree rape, two counts of first-degree sodomy, incest, and first-degree sexual abuse of a victim under 12 years of age. According to the plea offer, he will be sentenced to 20-years in prison and will be eligible for probation and parole after he has served 85% of the sentence. Following his release from prison, he will be on supervised probation for five years and must register as a lifetime sex offender, which is required by the law of any person who has been convicted of first-degree rape or first-degree sodomy.
Hines was indicted by the Christian County Grand Jury on January 25, 2019. The arrest warrant stated that beginning a few days before school started in August 2017, Hines allegedly forced the 12-year old female victim to have sexual intercourse with him. He reportedly continued to have sexual intercourse and other sex-related acts with the victim multiple times a week.
Hines will be officially sentenced by Christian Circuit Court Judge John Atkins on Tuesday morning, March 18, at 10:00.
