A public meeting was held Tuesday night for the purpose of hearing information about a zoning request and possible annexation into the City of Cadiz.
The Cadiz-Trigg County Planning Commission held the hearing during their regular January meeting concerning a new business – Cadiz RV Park.
Commission Chairman Bob Brame reports Exchange Enterprises, Inc. ran by Scott Jolly is asking for the property at approximately 520 Rocky Ridge Road to be annexed into the city limits and be classified as B-2 or a Neighborhood – Highway Business District.
The property is located behind McDonald’s and adjacent to Refuge Church, with Jolly stating they are simply looking to operate an RV park.
He adds they would like to be an option for people looking to pull off Interstate 24 and not drive very far to park their recreational vehicles.
During the public comments portion of the meeting, there was no one on hand to provide positive or negative comments for the proposed project, with commission members voting to hold a special called meeting Thursday, February 6 at 4:00 PM to approve or deny the request.
If they approve the request, it would then make its way to Cadiz City Council for approval. Since the special called meeting will be held after the February meeting of Cadiz City Council, the council will more than likely not make a decision until March.

In addition, commission members were sworn-in by Judge Chappel Wilson, who is also a member. Brame adds the commission is looking for another member to represent the county. Trigg County Fiscal Court and Cadiz City Council are in charge of appointing members if there is a vacancy.
