After months of construction, a new restaurant well-known for its frozen custard and steakburgers will be opening in Hopkinsville Thursday morning.
Kim Huynh, Public Relations Specialist with Freddy’s Frozen Custard & Steakburgers tells the News Edge they have hired 50 local individuals at the restaurant, which is located at 120 Clinic Drive. She says the restaurant will be open from 10:30 a.m. to 10:00 p.m. Sunday through Thursday and 10:30 a.m. to 11:00 p.m. Friday and Saturday.
According to Huynh, Freddy’s offers a unique combination of cooked-to-order steakburgers, Vienna® Beef hot dogs, shoestring fries and other savory items along with frozen custard that is freshly churned through the day in each restaurant.
Huynh says Freddy’s is unique from other similar restaurants because they strive to bring more than just another place to eat in the community by making an effort to become familiar with their guests and their stories, as well as their favorite menu items. She adds that they take pride in being a part of the community and being a good neighbor to the residents and businesses in the area.
Freddy’s is headquartered in Wichita, Kansas and was co-founded in 2002 by Scott Redler and Bill and Randy Simon. Huynh tells us the restaurant is named for Bill and Randy’s father, Freddy Simon, a 93-year old World War II Veteran who lives in Wichita, Kansas. She says Freddy Simon’s family values and patriotic service to his country are the foundation of the restaurant concept.
There are currently over 350 Freddy’s restaurants across 32 states.
