Scholarship Awarded To Hopkinsville Library Staff Member

A Hopkinsville-Christian County Public Library staff member has been awarded a scholarship to the 2020 Public Library Association (PLA) Conference in Nashville, Tennessee.

According to library officials, Jennifer Annis-Domenech was awarded the scholarship for the conference. She began at the library in Hopkinsville in September as the Youth Services Librarian. She holds a Bachelor of Arts in Communication and a Masters in Library and Information Science. Annis-Domenech was required to complete a short essay on how the PLA Conference would help her in her role as Youth Services Librarian and how she would share the information from the conference with her fellow staff members.

The PLA conference will provide educational experiences for attendees and will raise awareness through new and innovative learning opportunities.

Annis-Domenech says she is excited to attend the conference and learning more about different aspects of public libraries from across the country. She says she is grateful the Kentucky Department for Libraries and Archives chose her for the scholarship and she looks forward to sharing information with the rest of the staff at the Hopkinsville library.

Library Executive Director DeeAnna Sova says they are proud and excited that one of their staff members was selected for this scholarship. She adds that Jennifer has been an excellent addition to their team and they look forward to what she will bring back to the library from her conference experience.

Annis-Domenech is one of eight scholarship recipients from Kentucky who will attend the PLA 2020 conference that will be held February 25-29.
