Details Released In Christian County Interstate Crash

A wreck involving a tractor-trailer five miles west of the Pennyrile Parkway exit on Interstate 24 injured two Cadiz women Monday night.

Christian County Sheriff’s Deputy Sam Suiter said a tractor-trailer driven by 54-year-old Gerardo Bringas of Cape Coral, Florida was westbound when it veered off the roadway hitting the cable barriers causing the truck to be disabled in the middle of the westbound lanes with no lights.

A westbound car driven by 52-year-old Johnetha Boyd was not able to stop in time and struck the tractor-trailer and cable barriers.

Boyd and her passenger 54-year-old Lisa Mayes was taken by ambulance to Jennie Stuart Medical Center for leg and arm pain.

The wreck caused the cable barriers to be tangled under the tractor-trailers axles and the road remained blocked for several hours as the wreck was cleared.
