A sold-out crowd left the Alhambra Theatre filled with holiday spirit as Wynonna Judd and the Big Noise rocked the stage Saturday night.
Judd, who rose to fame with her mother Naomi in 1983 as The Judds, brought sass and some of her major hits to Hopkinsville. While performing, Judd spoke on her ever-growing faith, performed some of her all-time favorite Christmas songs, and even shared in a duet with her husband and former Highway 101 drummer Michael “Cactus” Moser.
Moser tells the News Edge it was a great night in Kentucky.
He adds they are working on a new album that he hopes will be released next summer.
Moser says the album will include “Ramblin’ Rose”, a song featuring Grateful Dead frontman Bob Weir and is expected to be released within the first quarter of 2020.
Pennyroyal Arts Council Executive Director Margaret Prim says money from the sixth annual Hoptown Holiday Hopfest will benefit the Alhambra.
Hits from The Judds and Highway 101 can be heard regularly on 106.5 WKDZ, wkdzradio.com, and the WKDZ app.
