Hopkinsville Firefighters Collecting Toys For Kids

The Hopkinsville Fire Department will begin its annual Christmas for Kids campaign after the Thanksgiving Day holiday.

Captain Michael Pendleton tells the News Edge they will be collecting toys at Walmart on Clinic Drive Friday and Saturday.

He notes they will be at Walmart both days from 9 AM until 6 PM.

In addition, Pendleton says toys can be dropped off at two locations in Christian County up until December 11th.

He notes the toys and monetary donations collected help provide Christmas for about 150 kids, ages infant to 12 years old.

Pendleton says the fire department has been hosting the Christmas for Kids campaign for over 20 years and it means a great deal to the firefighters. He adds the community has been great every year at giving and helping the cause of the Christmas for Kids program.
