The smell of grilled hamburgers and hotdogs filled the air around the Cadiz Fire Department Saturday as they held the inaugural “Heroes to Hoses” event to salute all veterans of the Armed Forces and active military.
Cadiz Fire Department Chief Thomas Futrell said the event was to show their gratitude to veterans and active members of the military by serving them some free food and giving away prizes.
He noted Cadiz Mayor Todd King also attended the event.
Futrell said they had a good turnout and hopes to make the “Heroes to Hoses” an annual event.
