A Hopkinsville man was charged with first-degree robbery after he reportedly took a woman’s gun Sunday afternoon.
Hopkinsville Police say 24-year-old James Browne pushed a woman and took her gun from her on Velma Drive then fled on foot before he tried to get into vehicles at the Dollar General on Lafayette Road.
Browne was located on Sands Drive by police and reportedly told them he lost the gun as he was running.
Police located the gun and charged Browne with first-degree robbery, tampering with physical evidence and first-degree wanton endangerment.
