A Hopkinsville woman was charged after police say she fled from them on North Elm Street when they attempted to serve warrants on her Saturday night. Hopkinsville Police say 42-year-old Tasha Wheeler slammed the door on officers and locked it when they knocked on her door.
Wheeler then reportedly opened the backdoor and attempted to run to the neighbor’s apartment.
After she was arrested police say she gave police a fake name but later told them her real name.
Police believe Wheeler was under the influence of drugs. She is charged with second-degree fleeing or evading police, resisting arrest, theft of identity and she was arrested on warrants for contempt of court and second-degree escape.
