Jennie Stuart Health held a ribbon cutting ceremony this week to launch the hospital’s new laboratory automation system.

CEO Eric Lee says Jennie Stuart has partnered with Beckman Coulter to bring the highest levels of laboratory efficiency and testing capabilities to the hospital’s patients and physicians. He adds the lab is now the most advanced in western Kentucky and one of the most advanced laboratories in the states of Tennessee and Kentucky. Lee says they are proud to offer such a technically advanced system in our region.

According to hospital officials, the automated system features clinical chemistry analysis, hematology, immunoassay, and urinalysis protocols. The analyzers provide standardized test menus, instrument processes and reference ranges that provide consistent quality results, and delivers precise, accurate results faster to improve patient care.

Hopkinsville Mayor Carter Hendricks attend the ribbon cutting ceremony and presented the lab with a proclamation in honor of lab week. Jennie Stuart Health staff and physicians, and representatives from Beckman Coulter were also on hand for the festivities.
