A former daycare worker charged in connection to the alleged abuse of two infants appeared for an arraignment in Christian Circuit Court Wednesday afternoon.
Allison Simpson, of Hopkinsville, was indicted by the Christian County Grand Jury on April 12 on two counts of first-degree wanton endangerment and second-degree criminal abuse of a child under 12-years of age. The charges stem from an investigation in which Hopkinsville Police reported Simpson was captured on video subjecting an 8-month old and a 10-month old to cruel care and confinement on January 10, 2019 at the daycare at First United Methodist Church.
During Simpson’s arraignment, her defense attorney Matt Schalk of Princeton formally entered a not guilty plea before Judge Andrew Self. He then asked Judge Self to reduce Simpson’s bond restrictions.
