Trigg Tourism Presented With 2018 Fiscal Year Audit Report

The Cadiz-Trigg County Tourism and Convention Commission was presented with their latest audit report during Thursday afternoon’s meeting.

CPA Rick Melton presented the report ending June 30, 2018, to commissioners. He says during the 2018 fiscal year the tourism board collected over $580,000 in restaurant and room taxes.

Melton adds the biggest expense for the tourism board is 25% of the restaurant tax that is given to the Trigg County Parks and Recreation Board.

The money given to the parks and recreation board goes to funding activities for youth in the county and to help build the sportsplex at the Trigg County Recreation Complex.As of June 30, 2018, the total liabilities and assets for the commission were valued at over $313,000. The next meeting for the commission is scheduled for Thursday afternoon, March 14 at 4:00 at the Cadiz Commerce Center.
