A Hopkinsville woman scheduled to stand trial Monday for murder in connection to a fatal hit and run nearly two years ago on East 4th Street has reached a plea agreement with the prosecutor’s office.
Commonwealth’s Attorney Rick Boling tells the News Edge Sherita Thomas appeared in Christian Circuit Court Monday morning before Judge Andrew Self and entered a guilty plea.

The charges stem from July 2017 when Thomas was traveling on East 4th Street and hit 33-year old Stephanie Wagner, who was leaning against the rear of a vehicle. Thomas reportedly fled the scene and was found at her home on North McPherson Street. She was initially charged with first-degree murder and the other offenses.
Boling says Wagner’s family believes the plea agreement was appropriate.
