Hopkinsville Mayor Carter Hendricks and city council members were sworn in Thursday evening.
During the ceremony, Hendricks quoted former President Theodore Roosevelt in saying it may be easy to sit on the sideline and to judge and criticize those who choose to step up and be a voice for the people.
Mayor Hendricks and the twelve council members were sworn in by Christian District Judge Foster Cotthoff inside the Hopkinsville Municipal Center Council Chamber. The first city council meeting of the new year will take place Tuesday evening, January 8 beginning at 6:00.
