A Hopkinsville man was arrested Saturday afternoon after he attempted to steal a ham from Piggly Wiggly on North Main Street in Hopkinsville.
According to Hopkinsville Police 53-year-old Columbus McGee attempted to leave Piggly Wiggly around 2:00 Saturday afternoon carrying a ham. Police say McGee was pushing and shoving as he attempted to get around an employee that was blocking the front doors.
When police searched McGee, they found a small pipe that had allegedly been used to smoke crack and a marijuana cigarette in his pocket. He was arrested and charged with Robbery second degree, Possession of Marijuana, Possession of Drug Paraphernalia and Promoting Contraband.
McGee was lodged in Christian County Jail.
