Man Facing Charges After Friday Hopkinsville Wreck

A Hopkinsville man is facing several charges after police say he was driving a stolen vehicle involved in a crash on Dawson Springs Road Friday morning.

According to Hopkinsville Police, the wreck occurred around 10:30 a.m. when 43-year old John Paul Hill was traveling southbound and rounded a curve in the 2000 block of Dawson Springs Road and ran off the right side of the road. The car then hit a speed limit sign and traveled about 125 yards before coming to a stop. After the crash, Hill fled the scene on foot into nearby woods and was later apprehended near the back parking lot of the Copper Still. Hill was reportedly arrested for being in possession of a stolen vehicle and fleeing from police. He was taken by ambulance to Jennie Stuart Medical Center for treatment of multiple injuries.

Hill is charged with Receiving Stolen Property $10,000 or more, Leaving the Scene of an Accident and other offenses.
