Crime Stoppers To Host Fundraiser In October

Hopkinsville-Christian County Crime Stoppers will be hosting a Bar-B-Que fundraiser next month in order to continue to pay out cash rewards to assist law enforcement and crime victims by capturing wanted suspects.

To date, Crime Stoppers Coordinator Lieutenant Kyle Spurlin says every year Crime Stoppers pays out cash rewards for information leading to the arrests of wanted fugitives and crime information in Hopkinsville and Christian County. To date, he notes they have paid out over $274,000 in rewards. He adds Crime Stoppers gives citizens an anonymous, confidential way of getting information to law enforcement without ever having to appear in court or giving their personal information. He says it is their hope by providing this service they are able to improve the quality of life for the citizens of Hopkinsville/Christian County.

In order to continue this service, Lt. Spurlin says Crime Stoppers will be hosting a bar-b-que fundraiser on Saturday evening, October 13th, from 5:00 until 7:00 at the War Memorial Building in downtown Hopkinsville. Crime Stoppers will be preparing plates with a bar-b-que half chicken, baked beans, slaw and a drink for $8.00 and a dessert can be purchased at the event. Tickets can be purchased at the Hopkinsville Police Department front lobby and at Johnson’s Family Chiropractic on South Virginia Street during normal business hours. On the day of the event, patrons can come pick up a plate-to-go or eat at the event.

Lt. Spurlin says Crime Stoppers is appreciative of the community’s continued support over the last 33 years and they look forward to providing a great service for many years to come.
