
One person was taken to Jennie Stuart Medical Center Saturday evening following a two-vehicle crash at the Country Club Lane intersection with Lafayette Road.
According to Hopkinsville Police, the wreck occurred around 6:30 pm when 21-year-old Ainsley Maxwell of Hopkinsville was headed west on Country Club and was blinded by the sunlight as she approached the stop light at Lafayette Road. Maxwell said she couldn’t see the stop light was red until it was too late to stop. She ran the red light, which caused her to run into the northbound vehicle driven by 29-year-old Jasmine Coleman of Hopkinsville, who going through the intersection.
A passenger in Coleman’s vehicle, 8-year-old Janasia Forte of Hopkinsville, was taken to Jennie Stuart with non-life threatening injuries.
