Two Kentucky State Park golf courses in western Kentucky will be closing temporarily for repairs beginning next week.
State parks officials say the 18-hole course at Mineral Mounds State Park near Eddyville and the golf course at Pennyrile Forest State Resort Park near Dawson Springs will be closed for about four weeks to allow reseeding of greens. The courses will be closed starting Monday, August 20 and will remain closed until later this year.
Officials indicate the reseeding is needed due to damage caused to the greens by weather conditions. They add other golf courses in the region have had similar issues due to the weather.
According to state park officials, the golf courses at the Lake Barkley State Resort Park at Cadiz and Kentucky Dam Village State Resort Park at Calvert City will remain open.
