A Man Well Known For Preaching The Gospel Dies

Communities across the area are mourning the loss of a well-known preacher. Brother Harold Lynn Greenfield passed away Monday at his home in Caldwell County, according to Morgan’s Funeral Home in Princeton.

Greenfield’s obituary says he was a preacher for 67 years, having preached in seven countries, 12 states, and 98 counties in Kentucky. He ministered as pastor at Sugar Creek Church in Caldwell County, Penrod and Woodland in Muhlenberg County, Kosmosdale in Jefferson County, Calvary Church in Union County, and Wallonia in Trigg County. He served as Director of Missions in the Little River Baptist Association and for 29-years in the Caldwell-Lyon Baptist Association. In addition, he served as interim pastor in several churches.

Greenfield also preached in 190 revivals. He served as the Kentucky Baptist Convention Vice President and then as President of the convention in 2001. He was also named the Distinguished Minister of the Year in 2011, and was the founding member of the Director of Missions Fellowship in Kentucky and the Caldwell County Historical Society.

In addition, Greenfield has wrote 17 volumes of Bible studies, as well as the weekly Bible study column for the Princeton Times Leader for 37 years.

Greenfield is survived by his wife of 60 years, Barbara, seven children and nine grandchildren.
