
The fight against a non-native species in area lakes is about to move to a new level. Lyon County Judge Executive Wade White is feeling optimistic in his fight against Asian Carp that is wiping out the eco-system in the lakes at Land Between the Lakes Recreational Area.
Judge White tells the News Edge the problem is Kentucky and Tennessee have been inundated with the Asian Carp, especially the Silver and BigHead, which is destroying everything in the lakes.

Judge White is trying to put together a coalition to get Congress to help fund the fight against the Asian Carp issue.

He adds they need to pull the Asian Carp out commercially. However, he says the problem right now is the commercial fishermen cannot make a profit.

Judge White says he has received a positive responsible from Congress. He adds Congressman James Comer has already come on board to help fight the Asian Carp problem and sent them video stating his support 100%.

Judge White notes they are going to win this fight, but it’s just going to take everyone coming together and garnering support to solve the Asian Carp problem.
