
Officials are investigating four suspicious fires as possible arsons that occurred in Madisonville Saturday morning.
The Madisonville Police and Fire Departments responded to three separate fires in the area of South Main Street. Police say the first fire occurred around 5:20 a.m. at the Sonic Drive-in located at 815 South Main Street where an outside storage building had suspiciously caught fire. The second fire was reported at 5:27 a.m. at an unoccupied residence at 47 West Jagoe where the exterior had caught fire. Police indicate the resident was not injured. The third fire was reported around 5:50 a.m. at the Automotive Express at 873 South Main Street where police say an unoccupied car parked behind the business suspiciously caught fire.
According to police, several fire departments responded to all three locations and were able to quickly get the fires under control and minimize damage and financial loss.
Shortly after 9:50 a.m., police officers and firefighters responded to the fourth fire at an unoccupied residence at 121 Lomond Drive.
Police say all four of the fires are suspicious in nature and are being investigated as possible arsons.
