Man Charged After Allegedly Stealing Chicken Sandwich

A Hopkinsville man was charged with robbery after police say he threatened employees at the Chick-Fil-A drive through window and then reached in and stole a chicken sandwich.

Hopkinsville Police report 23-year old Lendie Johnson attempted to use a month old receipt at the drive in window of the fast food restaurant on Fort Campbell Boulevard shortly after 5:40 Friday night in order to receive a free sandwich. When staff advised it was against policy and would not give him a free sandwich, Johnson reportedly became irate and aggressively got out of his vehicle, slamming his car door into the side of the building and began yelling and threatening staff. When staff backed away to avoid being assaulted, Johnson allegedly reached into the drive through window and took a chicken sandwich that didn’t belong to him.

Police say Johnson was arrested at his residence in the 400 block of Sivley Road and booked into the Christian County Jail. He is charged with 2nd Degree Robbery and Failure to Notify Change of Address with the Department of Transportation.
