Two Arrested After Hopkins County Pursuit

Two people were arrested after a vehicle pursuit with police in Hopkins County shortly after midnight. Madisonville Police report officers were dispatched to a suspicious vehicle parked in a parking lot behind a business at 601 South Main Street in Madisonville around 12:16am. Upon arrival, officers say the vehicle began driving away, almost hitting an officer’s vehicle in front of the business. Officers activated their emergency equipment, but the vehicle reportedly fled at a high rate of speed down South Main Street weaving in and out of traffic. Police say the vehicle continued to flee through Earlington and onto Sugar Creek Road where the driver turned into a residence and turned off the vehicle’s lights. Officers then located the vehicle and the subjects hiding inside the residence.

Authorities say the driver, 44-year old Robert Keown of Fenton, Missouri had an active parole warrant out of Jefferson County, Missouri and an active warrant in Hopkins County. He was taken into custody and charged with 1st Degree Wanton Endangerment, 1st Degree Fleeing and Evading Police In a Motor Vehicle, Reckless Driving, Opearing on Revoked Driver’s License and Failure to Signal.

Police report Keown’s passenger, 59-year old Judy O’Neal of Madisonville was arrested and charged with Menacing and 2nd Degree Hindering Prosecution.
