On August 26, leaders, families, and friends at Fort Campbell honored Medal of Honor recipient Kenneth David with his induction into the Medal of Honor Rotunda at the 101st Airborne Division (Air Assault) Headquarters.
David became the 22nd Soldier recognized in the rotunda, following his Medal of Honor presentation by President Joe Biden in January 2025.
A native of Giard, Ohio, David was drafted in 1969 and trained at Fort Campbell before serving in Vietnam. In May 1970, he charged an enemy line under heavy fire to protect his wounded comrades and a medevac helicopter, continuing to fight despite his own injuries—heroism later described as “above and beyond the call of duty.”
