A Nortonville couple is charged with shoplifting and possession of drugs after they reportedly tried to take items from a Dollar General on West 7th Street Sunday morning.
Hopkinsville Police say they were called to the store for a report of shoplifting and found 29-year-old Rachel Sweeney and 40-year-old Calvin Long with items police believe they were intending on shoplifting.
They both reportedly had retractable razors that Sweeney said they used to remove merchandise tags and packaging.
Police say after searching their vehicle they found meth and a pipe in a case under the driver seat. They are both charged with possession of meth, third-degree burglary, and possession of burglary tools.
