A Dawson Springs man was arrested after he reportedly gave police a fake name and attempted to run from them Friday night.
Hopkinsville Police say they stopped 43-year-old Gregory Barnett after getting a report of a male assaulting a woman in the area of Jago Road and East 1st Street.
During the stop, Barnett allegedly would not keep his hands out of his pockets and gave police a false name.
When police tried to put handcuffs on him he reportedly ripped his arm away and tried to run away on foot. He is charged with second-degree fleeing or evading police, resisting arrest, and public intoxication.
He also had an outstanding warrant for a parole violation.
